BIDDEFORD — Charles G. Ouellette, 92, passed away Saturday, July 12, 2014 at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House is Scarborough.

He was born in Biddeford on Feb. 23, 1922, the son of Alfred and Lumina (Garon) Ouellette.

He was a graduate of St. Louis High School, where he was a lettered football player.

Charles then went on to join the Army.

He then graduated from the school of watchmaking in Waltham, Massachusetts. He was also a member of the Horological Society.

Charles had been employed at Springer’s Jewelry before becoming self-employed.

On Sept. 7, 1943, he married Rita Labonte, who was his soul mate. They enjoyed ballroom dancing and bowling. He also enjoyed spending time with his son and daughter-in-law at camp. Charles also loved salmon fishing in Matane, Quebec, Canada, and playing golf at the Dutch Elm Golf Course with his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; his son, Henri Ouellette; two sisters, Rejianne Ouellette of Biddeford and Carmen Thibault of Matane, Quebec, Canada; and two brothers, Henri Ouellette of Biddeford and Roland Ouellette of Malibu, California.

Charles is survived by: his wife, Rita of Biddeford; two daughters, Priscilla Sylvestre and husband Norman and Theresa Hilton and husband Donald, all of Biddeford; daughter-in-law, Kathy Ouellette of Gardiner; grandson, Scott Babb of Biddeford; step-granddaughter, Amy Hilton of Biddeford; and step-grandsons, Scott Hilton and wife Cindy of Dayton, Toby Hilton of Winthrop, Todd Hilton of Portland, Troy Hilton and wife Christina of Biddeford, Charles Hilton and wife Tabatha of East Waterboro, and Jason Hilton and wife Angela of Hollis Center.

A funeral Mass will be held at St. Anne’s Chapel, Elm Street, Biddeford, on Friday, July 18, at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations be made to the Animal Welfare Society, P.O.
