“The Perils of Carmen Geditt,” a three-act comedy, will be performed by the Sanford Maine Stage Senior Readers Theater on Friday, July 18 at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, July 19 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, July 20 at 3 p.m. at The Little Theatre on the square, Main Street, Springvale.

“Billy Elliot The Musical,” a show about a young boy discovering a passion for dance, featuring a score written by Elton John, is now showing at the Ogunquit Playhouse through July 26. “Snake in the Grass,” a thriller by Alan Ayckbourn, will show in its Maine premiere at the Saco River Theatre, Bar Mills, July 18-19 and 24-26 at 7:30 p.m., with a Sunday matinee, July 20 at 2:30 p.m. (Friday, July 18 and Thursday, July 24 are pay-what-you-can.) The Kennebunk Art Walk is slated for Friday, July 18 and the Brick Store Museum, 117 Main St., will be open from 5-8 p.m. to take part. A collection of photographs by David Bishop will be on display at the University of New England’s Biddeford Campus Center through Aug. 4. A new show featuring the oil paintings of Colleen Forde are on display at The Clown in York through Aug. 11. An artist reception and wine tasting will be held Tuesday, July 22 from 5-8 p.m. The exhibit showcases Forde’s work in oil on canvas of beaches, marshes and farmlands of southern Maine. The Wells Reserve at Laudholm, 342 Laudholm Farm Road, Wells, presents seven concerts in the historic Laudholm barn this summer and fall, beginning with four Thursday evening concerts in July. Proceeds benefit the nonprofit Laudholm Trust. Historic New England announces the line-up for the popular Sundays in the Garden Concert Series, now in its 23rd year. Concerts are held every Sunday in July at 5 p.m. in the garden of the historic Hamilton House in South Berwick. Participants should bring a picnic basket and lawn chairs. The summer concert series at Wells Harbor Park will feature Straight Lace July 26. All concerts will be at the Hope Hobbs Gazebo on Landing Road (off Route 1). Comedian Paula Poundstone from NPR’s news quiz show “Wait Wait Don’t Tell Me” will perform at Jonathan’s Restaurant in Ogunquit on the weekend of July 19-20. Poundstone is a renowned comedian, host and author.

“Victory Began at Home: The World War II Home Front”: Scholar Peggy Konitzky of Historic New England will offer a lecture about the home front in Maine during the 1940s, on Tuesday, July 22 from 5:30-6:30 p.m. at the Brick Store Museum, 117 Main St., Kennebunk.
