TEWKSBURY, Mass. — Pauline L. Thibault, 92, formerly of York Beach, Maine, died Thursday, July 10, 2014 at Emeritus Senior Living.
She was born Aug. 8, 1921 in Berlin, New Hampshire, daughter of the late Louis and Flora (Roberge) Lambert.
She graduated from Berlin High School in 1939.
She moved to the Biddeford/Saco, Maine area in 1948 and lived there for 17 years before moving to York Beach, where she lived for 46 years.
She worked as a secretary her entire life; in addition to being a public stenographer, her employers included the Brown Paper Co. in Berlin, New Hampshire, the Saco-Lowell Shops in Saco, Maine, and the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, where she was employed for 24 years until her retirement in 1986.
Pauline enjoyed bowling for many years and won the Twin City Women’s Title several times. She loved traveling with her sister, Paula ”“ together they visited France, Italy, Hawaii, San Francisco and Alaska.
She enjoyed collecting antiques, reading biographies, doing crossword puzzles and researching genealogy with her nephew, Keith. She loved her family and never missed a family gathering; she loved to entertain her two granddaughters for their annual summer vacation with “Nana” in York Beach. She joined the Senior Center in York, where she played cards and went on bus trips to Foxwoods.
Pauline was a kind, gentle and independent woman who never said a mean word about anyone. She was an avid animal lover and owned two Yorkshire terriers, her favorite dog breed.
She was preceded in death by: a sister, Paula Murphy; and two brothers, Robert and Romeo Lambert.
She is survived by: a daughter, Cheryl A. Taylor and her husband Gerald of Dayton, Maine; and two grandchildren, Bethany A. Taylor of Winchester and Kimberly L. Taylor of Somerville.
A funeral service for Pauline will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 25 at the Lucas & Eaton Funeral Home, 91 Long Sands Road, York, Maine. There will be a period of visitation from 10-11 a.m. prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Animal Welfare Society, P.O.
