The Bowdoin International Music Festival announced today that violinist Jennifer Koh has been forced to cancel her Wednesday, July 30, engagement for medical reasons.

The world premiere performance of Light and Matter, a piano trio by Finnish composer Kaija Saariaho, will proceed as scheduled on the 30th, with Renee Jolles on violin. Benjamin Hochman, piano and Nick Canellakis, cello, will perform as planned.

The Bach Violin Concerto that Koh was to perform will be replaced by the Bach Double Violin Concerto featuring Frank Huang and Janet Sung.

The final work on the program, Mozart’s String Quintet No. 4 in G Minor, K.516, remains the same. Mikhail Kopelman and Renee Jolles (violin), Rami Solomonow and Dimitri Murrath (viola), and Meta Weiss (cello) will perform.
