BRUNSWICK — Spectrum Generations, in collaboration with Legal Services for the Elderly, is hosting its next three-day Senior Medicare Patrol training from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursdays, Aug. 7, 14 and 28 at Spectrum Generations Southern Midcoast ADRC Center located at 35 Union St. in Brunswick (within the People Plus building).
This “train the trainer” workshop will give you the tools you need to teach people how to navigate the complex Medicare system and prepare you to do public presentations, provide individualized counseling on Medicare Part D, and, in general, educate the public about Medicare fraud and abuse.
Breakfast snacks and refreshments will be served, but participants are asked to “brown bag it” for lunch.
Once you have completed the training, a Spectrum Generations SMP volunteer coordinator will put you to work with Aging and Disability Resource Counseling staff at one of our seven centers throughout central Maine located in Brunswick, Damariscotta, Hallowell, Waterville, Skowhegan, Rockland and Belfast.
Contact Craig Patterson to enroll at (207) 729-0475 or by email at [email protected].

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
