A exhibition of quilts, old and new, plus hooked and penny rugs, will take place on Saturday, Aug. 9 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Bar Mills Community Church at the corner of Portland Road and Hermit Thrush Road in Buxton. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 15 Smith Lane, Saco, will offer a free car wash and hot dogs on Saturday, Aug. 9 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. No donations will be accepted, as the event is being put on as a community service.
A bean supper will be held at the First Parish Congregational Church, corner of Beach and Main streets in Saco, on Aug. 9 from 5-6:30 p.m.
The Wells Summer Concert series will feature the Eddie Forman Orchestra on Aug. 9, performing Polka music. The free concerts are held every Saturday evening beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the Hope Hobbs Gazebo at Wells Harbor Community Park. Spectators may bring blankets, chairs and picnics.

Sunday, Aug. 10
The Maine Attraction Water Ski Team is gearing up for a couple of “learn to ski” clinics from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 10. Youth of all ages are welcome to participate. Each person will get a chance to try skiing for 10 minutes for a fee. Youth must have a guardian’s signature to participate. Folks should meet at Number One Pond in Sanford, wear a bathing suit and bring a towel. The team will perform their “Bachelor/Bachelorette” themed show that evening at 6 p.m. Donations accepted at the show to help with fuel and production costs.
