BIDDEFORD — Carol T. Champagne, 64, of Biddeford, died at her home, with her family by her side, on Aug. 1, 2014, after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born in East Sumner on May 30, 1950, to Joseph and Irene (Rowe) Duguay.

She was educated in Auburn and later went on to get her certificate to be a CNA.

On July 26, 1996, she married Victor Champagne.

Carol was a member of the Franco American Snowshoer’s Club, where she was also the past president of their local union. Carol was also the secretary of Club Voltigeur in Biddeford, and a member of the York County Veterans Alliance.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; one sister; two brothers; and two stepchildren.

Carol is survived by: her husband, Victor Champagne; three children, Alan Nickerson Jr. of Auburn, Joey Nickerson of Otisfield and Becky Johnson of Lewiston; two stepchildren, Kevin Champagne of Bangor and Beth Champagne of Sabattus; three sisters; two brothers; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

There will be no visiting hours. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 7 at St. Joseph’s Church in Biddeford. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Biddeford. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Carol’s name to the American Cancer Society, 1 Bowdin Mill Island, Suite 300, Topsham, ME 04086.
