Is it not a contradiction that some of the pro-lifers have not come out to defend the rights of the immigrant children who made it to the shores of America to escape danger? Are their lives worth less than those of the unborn?
I wonder if some of the pro-lifers are among the sign carriers condemning these kids in need; if so, I concur with the gentleman seen carrying the sign captured in the Cape Cod Times July 22 edition: “Keep the Children, Deport the Racists.”
In retrospect, and in my opinion, the silence on extending help to the immigrant children from some of the leaders and churches in America speaks volumes about that part of America that will forever be lost in shame. I’m proud of my governor, Deval Patrick, and others around the country who have stepped up to the plate and revealed their hearts.
Most of us know that these children from other parts of the world are human beings, and they should be treated like human beings; shame on those who look upon them differently.
