DAYTON — Lisa Marie Waterman Gonneville, 43, of Dayton, passed away peacefully on Aug. 11, 2014 at the Gosnell Hospice House in Scarborough, after a long, courageous battle with mesothelioma.

Lisa was born on Feb. 24, 1971 at Parkview Hospital in Brunswick, daughter of Frank and Edna (Leavitt) Waterman of Freeport.

She attended Freeport schools, playing field hockey and softball. Lisa was named to the All-State Team for both sports during her senior year.

Mrs. Gonneville attended St. Joseph’s Church in Biddeford. Her children attend St. James Catholic School in Biddeford. She worked for L.L. Bean for 10-plus years and later opened a day care in her Dayton home.

Lisa enjoyed watching her children’s sporting events and spending time with her grandson, family and friends. She exhibited a feisty zest for life and faced her cancer with a determination and spirit that attracted others to her. Mrs. Gonneville was always smiling and thinking of her family. She will be best remembered as being a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

Lisa is survived by: her loving husband of 12 years, Tom Gonneville of Dayton.

She is also survived by: four children, Tommy, Matthew, Taylor, and Derek Cameron and his wife Shannon; grandson, Landon; her parents, Frank and Edna Waterman of Freeport; her sisters, Michelle Driscoll of North Monmouth, Jennifer Gorski and her husband John of Toledo, Ohio; and brothers, Frank Waterman of Waterville and Eric Waterman of Augusta.

Friends are asked to visit with Lisa’s family on Friday, Aug. 15, 2014 at Cote Funeral Home, 87 James St., Saco, from 4-7 p.m. A funeral Mass will be held on Monday, Aug. 18, 2014 at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 178 Elm St., Biddeford.
