SOUTH BERWICK — The South Berwick Public Library is looking for 10 high school age people to help decorate the walls of the youth areas of the library.

Participating teens will meet for evening art sessions with local artist Julie Barbetta Parker during the fall to explore ideas, receive instruction and paint. Finished works will then be donated to the library for installation in the teen area of the library. Participants will then have the opportunity to mentor middle school and grade school age youth through the same process. Professional documentation of work will be provided for each student’s portfolio. The project will culminate with an opening reception of the art exhibit in the spring of 2015.

There is no charge for participating in the Young Street Studio Project and no experience is required, but teens are expected to commit to the project through March 2015 and will be encouraged to take leadership roles in fulfilling the grant.

More information is available at www.southberwicklibrary.org. Interested teens should contact Karen McCarthy Eger at the South Berwick Public Library, 27 Young St., South Berwick, for an application.
