Bring your cameras and your earplugs. The artists will have carvings for sale, too. Admission to the park is free for ages 3 and under; $5 ages 4-12; $7 for adults, and $5 for seniors. Monday, Aug. 18: A Gray Water District trustees meeting starts at 7 p.m. at 80 Shaker Road, Gray. The meeting is open to the public.
Tuesday, Aug. 19: A free tour of the Maine Military Museum in South Portland will be held from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. with a lunch provided. All veterans from the Windham area are invited to attend what is being billed as a Windham Veterans Reunion Day at the museum located at 50 Peary Terrace. Transportation by Windham Parks & Rec will leave Windham Veterans Center at 10 a.m. and return about 3 p.m. There is no cost. Reservations are required. Thursday, Aug. 21: All Windham Primary School families are invited to “Popsicles with the Principal” and playing on the playground by the cafeteria. Saturday, Aug. 23: The sixth annual Maine Native American Summer Market will be held at the Sabbathday Lake Shaker Village on Route 26 in New Gloucester from 10 a.m.-3:30 p.m. More than 40 members of the Penobscot, Passamaquoddy, Micmac and Maliseet tribes will demonstrate traditional Wabanaki art forms including basketmaking, stone carving, bark etching, beadwork and jewelry, in addition to featured performances of drumming by the Burnurwurbskek Singers, dancing by the Sipayik Dance Troupe and story telling.
