SACO — Joan C. Goulet, 74, of Saco died Saturday, Aug. 16, 2014 at Pine Point Manor in Scarborough after a long struggle with Parkinson’s.

She was born in Biddeford on June 14, 1940, the daughter of Albert and Amanda Nadeau Roberge.

She was educated in Old Orchard Beach and Biddeford schools, graduating from Biddeford High School.

On June 14, 1958 she married Paul Richard Goulet in St. Margaret’s Church in Old Orchard Beach.

Mrs. Goulet worked 10 years with Saco Defense Corp., retiring in 1982 due to disability.

She was a member of TOPS since 1985. She enjoyed doing home crafts, knitting, crocheting and cross-stitching. She loved cooking, traveling, and spending time with family and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by: a son, Robert P. Goulet in August 1980; a granddaughter, Brittany Autumn Goulet in December 1990; and a sister-in-law, Nancy Roberge in March 2013.

She is survived by: her husband of 56 years of Saco; three sons, Michael R. Goulet and his partner Denise Guliano of Biddeford, John D. Goulet and his wife Lori of Saco, Andre R.Goulet and his wife Kim of Saco; two brothers, Richard Roberge of Biddeford, and Norman Roberge and his wife Sharon of Saco; seven grandchildren, Michael, Jessica, Ashley, Kristina, Jonathan, Makayla and Hanna; and one great-grandchild, Chase.

Visiting hours will be 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 19 at Hope Memorial Chapel, 480 Elm St., Biddeford. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 20 at Most Holy Trinity Church in Saco. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Biddeford.
