KENNEBUNKPORT — On Friday, Aug. 22, the Seashore Trolley Museum is hosting the first-ever “Seashore Trolley Speakeasy.” It’s a gala event, from 6-10:30 p.m., and guests are encouraged to dress as Prohibition-era characters.
Seashore Trolley Museum’s Speakeasy will be presented in real Prohibition-era streetcars, which will be used as cocktail lounges for the evening. Silent films will be projected outdoors on the side of a carbarn. All the musical acts will perform music written from 1920 through 1933. Jay Dowe is the emcee for the evening.
Food will be catered by Blue Elephant Events, and bar service throughout the event area will offer both alcoholic and non-alcoholic cocktails. In honor of the museum’s 75th anniversary this season, a new drink, the “Seashore 75,” has been invented for the occasion ”“ a raspberry-infused vermouth and vodka martini, garnished with fresh raspberries.
A variety of businesses have donated prizes for a raffle.
Tickets can be purchased by contacting the museum at 967-2800, ext. 101, or by ordering online at www.trolleymuseum.org.
