Margaret Leblond recently received her certificate for 40 years of membership in the Daughters of the American Revolution from Rebecca Emery Chapter regent Valerie Owen. Leblond originally joined the Elizabeth Harrison Chapter in Missouri and transferred to Rebecca Emery Chapter, Biddeford, not long after.
As well, Adam Bartow was the guest speaker at a recent meeting of Rebecca Emery Chapter DAR. His topic was The “History of the Children of the American Revolution.” He is the New England Region vice president of the Children of the American Revolution and former senior state president of the Maine C.A.R. He is the author of a book titled, “The Maine Sheets,” a 75-year history of the Maine Society of the C.A.R.: 1938-2013. There are a number of C.A.R. societies throughout the state of Maine, and Rebecca Emery Chapter sponsors the Reverend John Fairfield Society in Saco, which was organized in 1958.
