LISBON FALLS — Chase Collier scored three secondhalf goals to power the Lisbon High School field hockey team to a season-opening 6-1 Mountain Valley Conference win over St. Dom’s on Wednesday.
Kate Philbrick and Molly Nicholson, assisted by Allie Bubar, staked the Greyhounds to a 2-0 halftime lead. Courtney Lawrence made it a 3-0 contest, and after Hannah Braun scored for the Saints (0-1), Collier completed her hat trick, with an assist each going to Micaela Bedell and Nicholson.
Stevie Charest earned the win in net for Lisbon, 1-0 and slated to visit Mountain Valley on Friday (4 p.m.).
Taylor Bergeron made 11 stops in net for St. Dom’s, which was outshot 22-6. Lisbon held a 6-3 edge in penalty corners.

The Dragons (0-1) opened Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference play with a loss to the Red Eddies (1-0) at Brunswick.
Jasmine Wyman led Edward Little with two goals, with Kirsten Lupher, Brooke Lever and Victoria Beliveau chipping in one goal each. Lever had three assists.
Brunswick, which visits Cony today at 4 p.m., goaltender Anna Webster was solid in net, turning aside 17 shots. Margaret Dickinson and Erin Marc-Aurele had several shots on net for the Dragons.
“We dominated offensively most of the game, with six penalty corners, but we just couldn’t capitalize on our chances,” said Brunswick coach Karin Iuzzolino.
Danica Nadeau turned aside 13 shots for EL.
