BIDDEFORD — Jacqueline Claudette Emilie Provencher, 97, a lifelong resident of Biddeford, died Thursday, Sept. 4, 2014 at Seal Rock at Atlantic Heights in Saco.

She was born Aug. 15, 1917 in St. Georges de Windsor, Quebec, Canada, a daughter of Saul and Althea (Cote) Provencher.

She came here as a child and was educated at St. Joseph School and St. Joseph High School.

Jacqueline had been employed at the Pepperell Mills for 47 years; she retired in 1979.

She valued time spent with her family, and had enjoyed playing cards until her 97th birthday.

Preceding her in death were: three brothers, Maurice Provencher in 1991, Edouard Provencher 2003 and Jean B. Provencher 2006.

She is survived by: a sister, Francoise Provencher of Saco, with whom she resided all of their lives; sister-in-law, Flore Provencher of Saco; and nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be 4-7 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 7, 2014 at Hope Memorial Chapel, 480 Elm St., Biddeford. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday, Sept. 8, 2014 at 10 a.m. at Most Holy Trinity Church in Saco. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Biddeford.
