WELLS — Visiting Kennebunk scored six goals in the first half to down Wells 7-1 in a WMC girls soccer game on Saturday.
Cara McCluskey and Leah Bridgham scored twice, and Elizabeth Cain, Hallie Schwartzman and Alyssa Weigle each added a goal for the Rams.
Alison Duplisea scored the lone goal for the Warriors in the second half.
BIDDEFORD 1, BONNY EAGLE 1
BIDDEFORD — Brooke Tardif scored the tying goal late in the second half and the Biddeford defense held its ground through two overtime periods as the Tigers played to a 1-1 tie with visiting Bonny Eagle in an SMAA girls soccer game at Waterhouse Field on Saturday.
Tardif-”˜s first varsity goal answered the Scots’ lone goal by Maddie Freeman midway through the second half.
Anna Marie Seiler made four saves for the Tigers, while Kelsey Parkin stopped 15 shots for Bonny Eagle.
Volleyball
BIDDEFORD 3, CHEVERUS 0
BIDDEFORD — Strong serving led Biddeford to a 25-20, 25-7, 25-11 straight-sets victory over Cheverus in a season-opening Class A volleyball game on Saturday.
In all, Biddeford had just eight severing errors out of 76 attempts. Jocelyn Moody had nine kills and 14 aces for the Tigers, who also hot 12 kills from Kendra Cote.
Kayla Fournier had 27 assists from the setter position for Biddeford, with Faith Tourigny also compiling 18 assists.
