THORNDIKE — Alex Fernald turned aside 15 shots to lead the Morse High School boys soccer team to a 1-1 Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class B deadlock with Mt. View on Tuesday.

Mt. View (0-1-1) jumped on top on an Avery Leclerc goal, but the Shipbuilders (0-1-1) responded with more urgency in the second half.

Emil Stokholm knotted the game for Morse, with Jake Reno picking up an assist.

Standouts for the Shipbuilders were Reno, Garret Robson and captain Max Lareau.

Mt. View netminder Seth Davis had 18 stops.

Brady Boulet booted in an unassisted goal in the first half, and Greyhound netminder

Ryley Austin made the lead stand up with seven saves as Lisbon eked out a Mountain Valley Conference win at Bethel.

Kellen True made 18 saves for the Rebels as Lisbon (2- 0) outshot the home team, 33- 11.

The Greyhounds return to action on Friday in their home opener against Winthrop. Kick-off is slated for 4 p.m.

Neither team was able to find the back of the net in Western Maine Conference play at Freeport.

Falcons netminder Brendan Qualls had four saves for the shutout, while Hawks (0-1-1) goaltender Mike Pingree made five stops.

Freeport, 0-1-1, is slated to visit Wells on Saturday at 11 a.m.

Carrabec scored a pair of goals late in the first half to take control at Wiscasset in MVC play.

Seth Burns and Dustin Crawford scored seven minutes apart for a 2-0 Cobras (2- 0) lead at the intermission, and second-half goals by Dillon Willette (two) and Isaac Vaillancourt completed the scoring.

“There is some frustration, but they are starting to find themselves,” said Wiscasset coach Chris Cossette, whose Wolverines are 0-2 and slated to host Dirigo on Saturday at 6 p.m.

Wiscasset netminder Conlon Ranta had seven saves, while Carrabec goaltender Trent Richardson had three stops.
