SOUTH PASADENA, Calif. (AP) — Two teenage boys arrested in what police say was a mass shooting plot at their Los Angeles-area high school have been charged with conspiracy to commit murder and conspiracy to commit assault with a deadly weapon.
The Los Angeles County district attorney’s office announced the new charges Monday against the 16-year-old and 17-year-old from South Pasadena High School.
The boys were previously charged with making criminal threats against another boy after sharing their plans with him. They have denied the charges.
They were arrested last month just before the school year began for what South Pasadena’s police chief called a huge plot to target three staffers and kill as many students as possible.
