University of Maine basketball coaches Bob Walsh and Richard Barron will join forces with Van Chancellor (formerly with LSU, Mississippi, Houston Comets) and Dean Lockwood (Tennessee assistant) to host a coaches’ clinic at Memorial Gym in Orono on Sept. 21. The clinic will run from noon to 6 p.m., with a social to follow. Cost is $75. There will be on-court demonstrations, “chalk talks” and more. The 17th Annual Schoodic Scramble will be held on Saturday at the Grindstone Golf Course in Winter Harbor. The cost is $75 per person, and tee and green sponsorships are also available. To register or for more information call 664-5337 or register at mainehospital.org.

The Pen Bay Community Day and 5K will be held Saturday at the Pen Bay Medical Center campus in Rockport. The 5K walk/run begins at 9 a.m. and a 1 Mile Kids Fun Run takes place at 10 a.m. The event also features a wellness tent where associates will provide tips on healthy living.
