CAIRO (AP) — The spokesman for Egypt’s Interior Ministry says authorities have arrested 22 people on suspicion of carrying out attacks on police officers and the country’s electricity infrastructure.
Hani Abdel-Latif said Wednesday that authorities believe those arrested are part of terrorist cells affiliated with ousted Islamist President Mohammed Morsi’s Muslim Brotherhood group.
He said the 22 people were arrested in the Nile Delta governorate of Sharkiya. He says authorities also seized explosives.
