BRUNSWICK — The Brunswick Rotary Club contributed 90 pencil boxes filled with school supplies for needy children in Brunswick schools.
The classroom teachers distributed these pencil boxes during the first week of school.
Brunswick Rotarian and Shaw’s Manager Patty Biggs has been organizing this project for the last three years. Individual Rotarians each take a pencil box with a list of supplies and brings the filled box back to one of their weekly meetings. Supplies include pencils, pens, erasers, markers, scissors and glue.
The Rotary Club of Brunswick is a service organization that serves the local community as well as regional, national and international projects. For more information, visit www.brunswickmainerotary.org.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
