WASHINGTON (AP) — Members of the U.S. House from New Hampshire and Florida have introduced a resolution honoring the lives of two American journalists who were beheaded by Islamic State militants in Syria.
The resolution recognizes the substantial achieves of James Foley and Steven Sotloff “through their courageous reporting of events in Libya, Syria and elsewhere.”
The 40-year-old Foley from Rochester, New Hampshire, was abducted in northern Syria in November 2012 and had not been heard from since. Sotloff, of Florida, was abducted in Syria last year.
The resolution condemns the action of Islamic State militants and demands the release of all other hostages.
Senators from the two states introduced a similar resolution that passed on Tuesday.
