ARUNDEL — Lorraine A. Mullins, 83, of Lowell, Massachusetts and formerly of Burlington, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully, with her family at her side, on Friday evening, Sept. 12, 2014 at the D’Youville Senior Care Facility in Lowell, Massachusetts.

She was born in Stoneham, Massachu-setts and grew up in Everett, Massachu-setts.

Lorraine was the widow of George A. Mullins, who died in 1998.

Lorraine was a talented cook, baker and cake decorator. She was employed by the Concord Catering Company in Burlington, Massachusetts. Later, she owned and operated her own catering service.

Lorraine loved spending time at home with her family, doing puzzles, playing card games and especially spending quality time with her beloved dog Bentley.

Lorraine and George purchased land in Arundel, built their dream home, then moved to Arundel in 1990. In Maine, Lorraine became very active in the First Congregational Church, where she put her cooking talents to work for church suppers and receptions. She loved fall in New England, and enjoyed picking apples and blueberries. Lorraine was also active in the Newcomers Club.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by: her parents, William and Arlene; and a sister, Shirley Ferrell of Vermont.

Survivors include: two sons, Thomas Mullins and his wife Karen of Westford, Massachusetts, and David Mullins and his wife Heather of North Chelmsford, Massachusetts; her grandson, Andrew Mullins; a sister, Joyce DuLong of Norwell, Massachusetts; and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be on Saturday, Sept. 20, 2014 from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at the First Congregational Church, 140 North St., Kennebunkport, where a funeral service will follow at 11:30 a.m. Burial will be in Arundel Cemetery in Kennebunkport immediately following the funeral service, where she will be laid to rest alongside her husband. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her memory to the American Parkinson Disease Association, 135 Parkinson Ave., Staten Island, NY 10305; or the First Congregational Church, 140 North St., Kennebunkport, ME 04046.
