BOWDOIN — Annette Muriel Levesque, 62, resident of Booker Road in Bowdoin, died Monday, Sept. 22, 2014, at Mid Coast Hospital in Brunswick following a long illness. She was born Dec. 16, 1951, in Belfast, ME, a daughter of Edward and Dorothy Mae (Elvard) Smith Sr. She attended schools in Belmont and Brunswick and received her GED from Mt. Ararat High School in 1983.

On June 18, 1983, she married Jimmy E. Levesque in Pejepscot.

Annette worked for several years as a CNA at CHANS Hospice Care in the Brunswick area. She cared very much about the patients and families that she served through the agency and it was a very important part of her life.

She enjoyed spending her free time camping, fishing, reading and also enjoyed volunteering her time at the Topsham Fair each year.

Besides her parents, Annette was predeceased by her son Brad Levesque, who died in 1996.

The Levesque family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at Mid Coast Hospital Intensive Care Unit for the compassion and care they offered to Annette and her family while under their care.

Survivors include her husband of Bowdoin, a son, Ben Newton of Portland, two daughters, Sue Draper of Auburn and Tina Levesque of Waterville, two brothers, Edward Smith Jr. of Monmouth and Paul Smith of Lewiston, two sisters, Lorraine Newton of Litchfield and Pam Hills of Bowdoinham, and seven grandchildren.

Visiting hours will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 25, 2014, at Brackett Funeral Home, 29 Federal St., Brunswick. A private graveside service will be held in Varney Cemetery in Brunswick. The family requests that donations be made to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, 60 East 56th St., 8th Floor, New York, NY 10022, or to the American Cancer Society, 1 Bowdoin Mill Island, Topsham, ME 04086 in Annette’s memory.
