A fire in Westbrook that could be seen from the Maine Turnpike late Thursday night has been extinguished.

The Westbrook Fire Department said a fire in a construction trailer in a quarry on the Pike Industries property at 58 Main St. was reported at 9:10 p.m. It was brought under control about 20 minutes later.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
