TOPSHAM—The Mt. Ararat seventh-grade boys came out shooting against Bath Middle School on Sept. 16, taking a 13-0 shutout victory.
Ben Laurence led the pack with three goals, while teammates Mason Brigham and Tristan Zell had two each. Marcus Steinman, Eli Ouellette, Trevor Brown, Connor Smith, Elias Theberge and Roan Logan also collected a goal.
Laurence and James Singleton split time in net, saving a total of four shots, while Trevor York was noted for solid game play.
The Eagles continued with their busy schedule, topping Auburn Middle School on Sept. 17, 2-0.
Theberge and Ouellette were the goal scorers for Mt. Ararat. Singleton stopped four shots in net, while Smith held strong at midfield and Jared Smith played solid on defense.
Coming off two straight victories, the Eagles dropped a tough game to Lewiston, 5-1. Thebege had the only goal for the Eagles.
Singleton had an impressive game in net despite the score, blocking 27 shots. Steinman continued his solid play at midfield.
Mt. Ararat completed the week on a high note versus the Brunswick Dragons, stealing a nail-biter, 3-2.
Josh Musica scored both goals for the Dragons.
The Eagle goals came by way of a three-way split from Theberge, Logan and Steinman that allowed Mt. Ararat to come out on top.
Singleton stopped another seven shots in goal with impressive play in front of him by Zell and Brigham.
