The election season brings out people looking to gain an edge over their opponent with wild and sometimes silly assertions. This year is no different.
Having worked with hundreds of lawmakers from every political stripe for well over a decade, I have a pretty good idea of what it takes to be a good representative.
Joyce ‘Jay’ McCreight has all of the skills and qualities that I look for in a candidate to represent my home town of Harpswell. She is practical, thoughtful and uses good judgment when making decisions. Jay is an even keel kind of person who genuinely likes people.
Jay doesn’t pretend to know more than she knows or have any ego in what she takes on. She simply wants to learn and do a good job.
She is the right choice for House District 51, Brunswick, Harpswell and West Bath. Please consider trusting her with your vote on November 4.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
You can read more here about our commenting policy and terms of use. More information is also found on our FAQs.
