ARUNDEL — Doris M. Sanborn, 86, of Arundel, passed away Monday morning on Sept. 29, 2014, at her residence.
She was born in Deer Isle on Sept. 23, 1928, a daughter of Mark and Josephine (Fournell) Bishop.
She was educated in Biddeford schools.
Mrs. Sanborn was a homemaker, who loved raising her family.
She enjoyed cooking, sewing and making doll clothes. Most of all, she loved to spend time with her grandchildren.
She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and a parishioner of the former St. Mary’s Church in Biddeford.
She was preceded in death by: her husband, Leonard R. Sanborn, on Dec. 24, 2011; her son, Leonard R. Sanborn Jr., in 1979; and two daughters, Victoria Boutin, in 2007, and Diane Donegan, in 2012.
She is survived by: one daughter, Betty Liberty; 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Roger Fournell and his wife Sandra and George Bishop and his wife Julie; and several nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 2, 2014 at Cote Funeral Home, 87 James St., Saco. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday at Most Holy Trinity Church, Good Shepherd Parish, in Saco. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Biddeford.
