BATH — Elaine Blouin, 74, of Lincoln Street, died peacefully on Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2014, at her residence with her three sons by her side.

On Nov. 22, 1939, she was born in Bath on Maxwell Street, a daughter of Chester E. and Mary Catherine (Brooks) McCrater.

Elaine moved to Arrowsic at a young age and attended the one-room schoolhouse and graduated from Morse High School in the class of 1958. She was employed at Stinson’s Cannery, Congress Sportswear and HealthTex. Elaine received her CNA certificate and was employed at Winship Green Nursing Center in Bath and Brunswick Manor. On July 18, 1981, she married Richard M. Blouin. She cleaned homes in Bath, Woolwich, Georgetown and Arrowsic and worked up until recently for the Carlisle family in Georgetown.

Elaine loved going to her camp on Silver Lake in Shapleigh, doing puzzles, bowling and spending time with her friends at the Legion. She especially loved time spent with her family and always attended her children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events. Elaine liked dancing and old time music, especially Hank Williams and Patsy Cline.

She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary for 33 years.

Norma of Arrowsic, Allen Elwell and his wife Maryanne of Arrowsic, one sister, Alice Brassard of Bath, 11 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of her life will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 5, 2014, at the American Legion on Congress Avenue in Bath. Burial will be at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to The Dempsey Center for Hope & Healing, 29 Lowell St., Lewiston, ME 04240.
