TOPSHAM — Georgia Emma (Lemar) Bryant, age 86, of The Cedars in Portland, Maine, passed on Monday, Sept. 29, 2014, at her residence.

She was born in Augusta, Maine, on Jan. 25, 1928, the daughter of George and Ethel (Conley) Lemar. Georgia was one of 14 children which includes: John, Raymond, Robert, Lawrence, Joseph, Archie, David, Mary, Annie, Ethel, Geraldine, Gladys and Carol. She was the eldest girl and helped to raise her family. On June 20, 1947, she married Frank Bryant Sr. She was a foster mother for years and later adopted two children.

Georgia worked for W.T. Grant, Howard Johnsons and Friendly’s in Augusta until retirement. She loved to play Bingo and was an advent bowler winning many trophies in her league in Gardiner. Georgia was a member of the Dresden Methodist Church and had many friends. She enjoyed watching Red Sox games, listening to country music and yodeling.

She had many stories to tell and kept us all amused. Georgia was tough as nails and never gave up. She lived a good life and taught us all to have fun. She was our rock, who gave all of herself and was loved by many. She was our meme.

Georgia is survived by her son Frank Bryant Jr. and wife Vicky; a daughter Lisa Bryant; four grandchildren: Christopher Curtis, Lindsay Jacobs, Brooke Leonard and Alana Marois; two greatgrandchildren, Hunter and Grace Curtis; and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held at Brackett Funeral Home at 29 Federal St. in Brunswick, Maine, on Saturday, Oct. 4 at 10:30 a.m. Memories and condolences can be expressed at www.brackettfuneralhome.com.
