“Bobbi-Jo’s Shotgun Wedding & Reception,” a dinner show, will be presented at the Biddeford Eagles, 57 Birch St., Biddeford, on Saturday, Oct. 4. This show, which contains explicit lyrics and language, won Tony Awards for Best Book, Musical Score in 2004. “Sacred Partners,” a series of artwork by Maine artist Debra Bickford, will be on display at the University of New England’s Biddeford Campus Center from Oct. 4 through Nov. 1. Maine Women in the Arts will host its annual Fall Fine Arts Show ”“ Big & Small, from Oct. 3-5, at the Masonic Hall, Temple Street, Kennebunkport, featuring all original paintings, with tabletop small-size paintings as well as larger art. Show hours are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 3; 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 4; and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 5. “TIME,” an exhibition of Ingunn Milla Joergensen’s paintings of Maine barns, along with some abstract pieces, will show at The Gallery at the Grand, 1 Chase Hil Road, Kennebunk, through Oct. 5 and is available for viewing daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

“Andrew Wyeth: The Linda L. Bean Collection” will show through Oct. 31 at the Ogunquit Museum of American Art in Ogunquit. This collection celebrates the art of Andrew Wyeth, one of Maine’s best-known painters, through a collection assembled by Linda Bean of the L.L. Bean family of Freeport.

“MATTER,” Amy Stacey Curtis’ eighth of nine solo-biennial exhibits of interactive installation, is nine large-in-scope works throughout 24,000 square feet of Parsonfield’s Robinson Mill, 10 Mill St. As with Curtis’ previous “solo biennials,” each installation has instructions for audience participation. Concert pianist Laura Kargul, who is celebrating her 25th year on the faculty of the University of Southern Maine, will perform three works at the Sanford-Springvale Historical Museum, Friday, Oct. 10 at the Historical Museum, 505 Main St., Springvale. Gypsy jazz trio Ameranouche will perform at the First Parish Federated Church, 150 Main St., South Berwick, on Oct. 4 at 7 p.m. The series will continue on Saturday, Oct. 25 with La Madeleine, and then Nov. 22 with singer-songwriter Caroline Cotter with special guest Julie Dougherty. The Maine State Ballet will present Stravinsky’s “The Firebird” and the “Bach Concerti” on the weekends of Oct. 10 and Oct. 17. The two ballets have been choreographed by Linda MacArthur Miele. “The Firebird” is a dramatic piece featuring Elizabeth Dragoni in the title role, while “Bach Concerti” is a series of four selections featuring more formal, classical choreography for more than 20 dancers. Among them is Waterboro resident Alyssa Bryan. The show runs on Friday evenings at 7 p.m. and Saturdays at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. through Saturday, Oct. 18. Maine FabLab, a program of Engine, is holding an open house to celebrate national MFG Day 2014 on Oct. 3 from 3-6 p.m. at 265 Main St. in downtown Biddeford. MFG Day is an initiative supported by a group of industry sponsors and co-producers designed to amplify the voice of individual manufacturers and coordinate a collective chorus of manufacturers with common concerns and challenges, according to a release from Engine. Visitors can see the lab’s digital fabrication equipment in action, including two Makerbot 3D printers and the lab’s new desktop CNC milling machine. Local manufacturers holding tours during the MFG Day include Saco River Dyehouse from 3-5 p.m.; Arundel Machine Tool from 9 a.m. to noon; and Volk Packaging from 9-11 a.m. Pratt & Whitney will schedule tours by appointment. “Project Unspeakable” will be performed at The New School, 38 York St., Kennebunk, on Friday, Oct. 3 at 7 p.m. The play was inspired by James Douglass’ book, “JFK and the Unspeakable: Why He Died and Why It Matters.” It will be performed by 12 volunteer readers, sometimes taking several parts. Victory Dance, an evening of swing dancing, will take place at the Waterhouse Center on Main Street in Kennebunk on Saturday, Oct. 4, in correlation with the Brick Store Museum’s ongoing exhibit, “Vitamin V: How Food Fought the Second World War.” Group swing dance lessons will start at 5:30 p.m., and guests are invited to dance until 9 p.m. to the live, big-band music of the New Legacy Swing Band. A raffle, photo booth and mini museum displays will be part of the evening and admission to the museum is included. Casting is underway for a new reality show, “Lost in Love,” featuring people who are seeking to reconnect with “the one who got away.” Applicants should be, or appear to be, between the ages of 21-35. The Voices in Harmony choirs are currently accepting new members of all ages for the fall session.
