LYMAN — Carolyn L. Smith, 83, of Lyman, died Thursday, Oct. 2, 2014 at Southern Maine Health Care in Biddeford, after a long illness.

She was born Dec. 23, 1930.

She was educated in Sanford schools before going to the University of Southern Maine in Portland and getting her business degree.

In June of 1948, she married Robert E. Smith in Yonkers, New York. He died on Dec. 10, 2010.

Mrs. Smith worked at Corning Components for years, before retiring at age 55. During her retirement, she worked at an antique shop.

She was preceded in death by: a grandson, Aaron Cabana.

Surviving are: one son, Ronald J. Smith and his wife Patricia of Lyman; two daughters, Diana Cabana and her husband Robert of Henderson, North Carolina, and Dolores Jette and her husband Scott of Port Charlotte, Florida; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 6, 2014 at Hope Memorial Chapel. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2014 at Most Holy Trinity Church of the Good Shepherd Parish in Saco. Burial will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery in Saco.
