SCARBOROUGH — The Robbie Foundation will hold its third annual Gala Evening to benefit children with special needs on Friday, Oct. 17. The Gala will be held at the Black Point Inn in Scarborough, and will feature an evening of laughs along with a silent and live auctions. WCSH6’s Jackie Ward and Sharon Rose-Vaznis will emcee the evening.
The highlight of the evening will be a live auction and special performance by Karen Morgan, a former attorney turned comic from Maine.
Over the past four years, the foundation has raised more than $100,000 for children and adults with special needs throughout the state. The money has gone toward the purchase of adaptive equipment, therapy treatments and services that are not covered by health insurance.
Tickets for the gala evening are $75 per person or $140 per couple. A table for eight is available for $550.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
