Ray Richardson will speak at the York County Republican Committee’s monthly meeting at the Republican Headquarters, located at 10 Main St. in Kennebunk, on Wednesday, Oct. 8 at 7 p.m. Richardson is a conservative talkshow host and author. Prior to the meeting, Richardson will be available to sign copies of his newest book, “Rebuilding Maine’s Future: The Untold Story of Governor Paul LePage.” All are invited to come from 6-7 p.m. to speak with him and purchase an autographed copy of his book. A veterans’ service officer from the Maine Bureau of Veterans’ Services will be available Wednesday, Oct. 8 at Saco City Hall from 9-11 a.m.

Thursday, Oct. 9

The York County Veterans Alliance, 24 Bradbury St., Biddeford, will host an open house for conservative candidates for office in Biddeford, Arundel, Dayton, Lyman, Alfred and Kennebunk on Thursday, Oct. 9 from 5-8:30 p.m. Refreshments will be provided. A full cash bar will be available. The event is sponsored by the Biddeford GOP and will benefit “Caramels for Karson” homemade candy by a grandmother making and selling salted caramel candy, to help pay the bills over a lifetime for her infant grandson’s hospital expenses. All are welcome to meet and greet the candidates and talk to them about issues and concerns with local and state government. Saturday, Oct. 11

The last bean supper of the season will be served at 19th Century Willowbrook Museum on Elm Street in Newfield from 5:30-7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 11. The menu includes roast pork, hot dogs, homemade beans, salads and desserts.

A bean supper will be served at First Parish Congregational Church, corner of Beach and Main streets in Saco, on Oct. 11 from 5-6:30 p.m. The menu will include pea beans, kidney beans, hot dogs, macaroni and cheese, brown bread, dinner rolls, coleslaw, desserts, coffee, tea, and cold beverages. The cost is $7 for adults, and $4 for children 6-12 years old.

A plant and craft sale and community supper will take place Oct. 11 at the Second Congregational Church at 19 Crescent St., Biddeford. The plant and craft sale takes place from 2-6 p.m., and the Yankee pot roast dinner takes place from 4:30-6 p.m. The cost is $7 for adults, and $4 for children.

Tuesday, Oct. 14

The Saco Grange 53 will be holding a meeting on Oct. 14 at  7 p.m., at 168 North St. (Route 112), Saco. Visitors are welcome and are invited to come look at the hall rental space. For more information call Pat at 499-7376.
