BRUNSWICK — Topsham veterinarian Dr. Susan B. Chadima, who also conducts veterinary work in Afghanistan, will speak about those experiences at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 15, in the Morrell Meeting Room of the Curtis Memorial Library. The talk, presented by the American Association of University Women, is open to the public.

Since her first six-week trip to Afghanistan in 2005, Dr. Chadima — co-owner of the Androscoggin Animal Hospital — has made multiple trips, and since March 2012, she has been living and working fulltime in Kabul, serving as the Team Leader for a project funded by the European Union. During her free time, she works closely with two shelters that rescue companion animals, spaying and neutering, and helping dogs that have been adopted by active duty soldiers in all corners of the country.
