BAR HARBOR (AP) — Officials say the lone occupant escaped injury when a 50-foot charter fishing boat sank off Acadia National Park.

Bar Harbor Harbormaster Charlie Phippen tells WNSXFM that the Tiger Shark began taking on water late Tuesday morning after a plank in the hull let go. He says the only occupant escaped to another vessel before the Tiger Shark capsized about a half-mile from Thunder Hole.

Phippen says the boat is part of the Downeast Windjammer fleet owned by Steven Pagels and was used for charter day cruises.
