BRUNSWICK — The Brunswick High School field hockey team battled its way to a 2-1 victory over the Hampden Academy Broncos in recent action.
Caroline Headley gave the Dragons the lead in the first half with a goal, but the Broncos tied it up, making it 1-1 going into the second. The Dragons took the lead by way of a Margaret Dickinson goal. Brunswick was able to hold off the Hampden offense, stopping all six penalty corner attempts.
Headley, Dickinson, Emily Anderson, Emily Austin and Hollie Imperato worked well offensively together, creating smooth passes up-field.
With the win, the Dragons improved to 4-4- 4. After visiting Edward Little on Thursday, Brunswick concludes its season at home against rival Mt. Ararat on Tuesday.
