WINTERPORT (AP) — Authorities have released the name of the third man they allege posed as a police officer to steal medical marijuana from a licensed growing operation in Winterport.
State police have issued an arrest warrant for 45- year-old Kerry Hurd of Bangor. He faces charges of robbery, theft and impersonating a police officer.
Three men were caught on surveillance video during the robbery last month dressed in clothing that included dark SWAT-style vests and a shirt that said “sheriff ’ on the front. One had a gun.
The homeowner challenged the intruders, who left with an armful of mature marijuana plants. No shots were fired.
Two other men — Hurd’s brother Jeffrey Hurd, and Scott Roberts — have already turned themselves in.
Anyone who knows of Kerry Hurd’s whereabouts is asked to call police.
