It’s fair to say we’ve reached a point where it’s imperative to have the proper people in government. True at a national level, it’s even more so at the state and local levels. Representatives in these positions are the men and women who walk their kids to the school bus stop with you. They’re the grandparents who are the loudest cheerleaders at football games and tiny tykes soccer matches. These are the hard working business owners who not only try to make a living for themselves, but strive to create jobs for others. I doubt you’d ask any of these influences in your lives what their political affiliation is; nor should you. What does it matter? If you want to play ball you have to pick a team – it’s that simple.

Assumptions will be made depending on what color jersey you wear, but in the end it’s just a shirt. What really matters is the person wearing the shirt. That he or she stands for something of value, of consequence. They need to be invested in the success of our community, aware of the issues currently perplexing it, and genuinely willing to work – with everyone! – to bring about positive change.

Sue Austin, running for the House seat in District 67, is one such person. Sue embodies what we need in government. Her dedication to the greater good is unmatched; her devotion to family and community is unparalleled; and her desire to make District 67 and the state of Maine a better place not only for future generations but for current generations makes her the best candidate – period. Sue Austin does not wear the jersey of just one team; she wears the colors of our country, of our community, of our team as a whole. Now there’s someone to vote for!
