I know everyone has the right to their opinion, but editorials, letters published in The Times Record seem to really put down our Governor LePage most of the time! I wish some could take the time to look at his good side. It is gratifying to see Gov. LePage and his wife take the time to attend so many events for our veterans and their families in these busy times. Thank you.
It is hard to believe that some citizens can’t see that our state of the state has some big problems and Gov. LePage is trying to bring us back from a long path of just kicking the can down the road. One of the most troubling issues to me is how some citizens believe that if you come here illegally, that you should realize all the benefits and services that most citizens have worked very hard to achieve. When I was growing up, my parents always instilled in me that the good Lord helps those who help themselves.
Wouldn’t common sense tell you that if you were here illegally, and were able, that hard work would not only build your self esteem, you would be welcomed into a community and become a proud citizen. That, in a nutshell, is what Gov. LePage is trying to get across to the citizens of Maine, so we don’t lose our rights and our tax dollars, to those who aren’t willing to do what we do and abuse the system.
I and many others are looking forward to Gov. LePage’s second term, and hope many more will join the effort to do what is right for Maine. Thank you.
