SACO — Michael R. Hanna, 50, of Saco, died Saturday, Oct. 18, 2014 at his home, after a five-month battle with sarcoma cancer.

He was born in Biddeford on Jan. 8, 1964, the son of Roger P. Hanna and Eliane Dubois Hanna.

He was educated in Biddeford schools, graduated from Biddeford High School with the Class of 1982, and graduated from the University of Southern Maine in Portland in 1986.

Michael worked at Hannaford’s Supermarket while a student at Biddeford High and at USM. He then owned and operated “New Dimensions,” a photography studio in Biddeford specializing in weddings and family portraits. He then worked 10 years with Prudential Insurance and worked 11 years as a real estate agent in the local area and was last associated with Re/Max Agency in Saco.

On Sept. 29, 2012, he married Karen A. Walters in Saco.

Mike enjoyed biking, playing the piano, disc golf, photography, playing chess, cards and traveling. He loved spending time with his family and friends.

Surviving are: his wife, Karen Hanna of Saco; a stepdaughter, Ella Walters of Saco; his mother, Eliane Hanna Collette and her husband Richard of Biddeford; a brother, Marc P. Hanna and his wife Carol of Arundel; two stepbrothers, Gary R. Collette and his wife Kathy of Dayton and David R. Collette of Biddeford; a stepsister, Lisa Marie Harding and her husband Steve of Biddeford; two nephews, Jonathan Hanna of South Portland and Kyle Hanna of Saco; a niece and godchild, Ashley Hanna of Limerick.

Visiting hours will be 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2014 at Hope Memorial Chapel. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 23, 2014 at St. Joseph Church of the Good Shepherd Parish in Biddeford. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Biddeford.
