WOOLWICH — Carlene Wright, 84, of Dragonfly Way, died Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2014, peacefully with her loved ones by her side, including her best friend, Hazel Adams, at Winship Green Nursing Center in Bath.

She was born in Boothbay on Sept. 11, 1930, a daughter of Charles S. and Cora (Erskine) Barnes.

She attended Wiscasset schools, Wiscasset Academy and graduated from nursing school in New Haven, CT and became an LPN. She was employed as a private duty nurse at Mid Coast Hospitals and for individuals in their homes, and before retiring in 2012 she worked for Branches. She was a strong loving woman and everyone loved her that she came in contact with. Carlene was always caring for the other person and always worried about her granddaughter and great-granddaughter. She cared about what her home and her yard looked like and what needed to be done so it always looked presentable.

She was a longtime member of the American Legion Auxiliary 21 in Bath.

She enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, gardening, bird watching, especially cardinals and her cat “Tippy.”

She was predeceased by her husband, Linwood Wright on July 19, 1999; son, Kim Auriemme in 1972; and four brothers, Charles Barnes, Robert Barnes, Carl Barnes and Richard Barnes.

She is survived by her daughter, Karla Densmore and her husband Ron of Brunswick; four brothers, Roy Barnes and his wife Aleene of Wiscasset, David Barnes and his wife Gloria of Phippsburg, William Barnes of Wiscasset and Kingsley Barnes and his companion Rose Jackman of Pittston; one sister, Sandra Winters and her husband Wesley of Belgrade; one granddaughter, Kim Johnson of Woolwich; one great-granddaughter, Hailie Johnson of Woolwich, and many nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 2, 2014, at Greenlawn Cemetery in Wiscasset. A gathering of family and friends will follow at the American Legion on Congress Avenue in Bath. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wiscasset Ambulance, 51 Bath Road, Wiscasset, ME 04578.
