PORTLAND (AP) — A Berwick man facing federal child pornography charges has been released on bail.
Peter Anderson was taken into custody of the U.S. Marshals Service on Wednesday after a warrant charging him with possession of child pornography was issued last week, according to court records.
The Portland Press Herald reports that Anderson appeared in court on Wednesday and was allowed to go free on a $50,000 unsecured bond while his case is pending.
Records indicate that his arrest was the result of a search warrant executed at his home in April. He allegedly had several hundred videos and images of child pornography that he had downloaded from the Internet.
