AUGUSTA (AP) — Students from 130 Maine schools want to give Gov. Paul LePage another four years in the Blaine House.
The Republican governor won the annual mock election Wednesday with 38.5 percent of about 12,000 votes. Democrat Mike Michaud came in second with 35.8 percent and Cutler finished in third with 25.4 percent.
In the 2nd Congressional District race, Democrat Emily Cain got 40.9 percent of the students’ vote, defeating Republican Bruce Poliquin who had 35.9 percent.
Democrat Chellie Pingree won the 1st District race over Republican Isaac Misiuk and independent Richard Murphy with 38 percent of the vote.
In the Senate race, Republican Susan Collins defeated Democrat Shenna Bellows with 69 percent of the vote over Democrat Shenna Bellows, who was favored by 30 percent of the students.
