Hunters Breakfast, 4-8 a.m. in Old Town

The 64th annual Old Town Rotary Club Hunters Breakfast will be held on the first day of the deer hunting season at the Waterfront Park in downtown Old Town. The event is expected to draw more than 600 people. Hunters and non-hunters are welcome. The traditional breakfast will include pancakes, eggs, ham, home fries, beans, donuts, coffee and hot chocolate. The cost is $5 for adults, $2.50 for children under 12, and $15 for families. Winter Owl Prowl, in Cape Neddick

The Center for Wildlife’s owl prowl has grown in popularity, so the center will offer a series of prowls. Join the center on Nov. 14, Dec. 5, Jan. 2, Feb. 6 or March 6 for an evening of hoots. Each event starts at 6 p.m. with a presentation by the center’s educators about owl ecology, natural history, and the struggles native owls face. Afterward, the group will head onto the center’s trails to listen for owl hoots. This event has a $7 suggested donation per person, and reservations are required. Call 361-1400.

Gray Ghost Fly Tying, Nov. 11 in Yarmouth

Join the Gray Ghost Fly Tyers and learn from experts how to tie two flies essential for any fly box: Gary LaFontaine’s Marabou Worm and Cal Bird’s Nest. The fly-tying group meets on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month from November to March in the First Parish Congregational Church on Main Street in Yarmouth. The class runs from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. A $5 donation is requested. Tyers should bring the tools and equipment to use in fly tying. The instructors will provide hooks and materials for the flies.
