KENNEBUNK — Alex Bandouveres rushed for over 100 yards, and Jesse Devereaux made a key fourth-quarter interception as the Brunswick High School football team downed Kennebunk 41-26, on Saturday.
The Dragons finished the regular season with a 7-1 record, good for the No. 1 seed in Eastern B. Brunswick has a bye into the Eastern B semifinals and will host the winner of Friday’s Mt. Blue-Messalonskee contest on Nov. 8.
Bandouveres carried the ball 16 times for 108 yards. Cam Berry added 89 yards on five rushes and two scores, while Will Bessey picked up 56 on the ground.
Brunswick jumped out to a 14-0 first-quarter lead behind a 9-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Tom Hanson (3-for-6, 64 yards) to Ricky Klatt (two receptions, 48 yards) and a 70-yard TD run by Berry.
Leading early in the fourth, Devereaux intercepted a Kennebunk pass near the goal line to keep the Dragons up by a pair of scores.
Jaznel Burns, Tristan Graves, Kyle Maillet and Devereaux led the Brunswick defense.
