ARLINGTON, Texas — Colt McCoy directed Washington to Kai Forbath’s 40-yard field goal in overtime and Dallas was unable to answer after Tony Romo returned from an apparent injury, sending Washington to a 20-17 victory on Monday night that snapped the Cowboys’ six-game winning streak.

McCoy, the former Texas star playing at the home of the Cowboys for the first time since his final college game in his home state, calmly drove Washington (3-5) to the winning points.

The Cowboys (6-2) had one last chance, but didn’t get a first down. Romo’s final pass on fourth down was knocked away by Bashaud Breeland.

Romo left after getting sacked by Keenan Robinson in the third quarter. He lay motionless for several minutes but returned for the final Dallas drive of regulation.

BROWNS: Pro Bowl tight end Jordan Cameron is following NFL protocol after sustaining at least his third concussion in three seasons Sunday.

Cameron was struck in the back of the head by Oakland safety Brandian Ross in the second quarter while making a diving 21-yard catch.

JETS: General Manager John Idzik says his performance this season has been “unsatisfactory” and adds that the team’s 1-7 start is like “being punched in the face.”

Idzik addressed the media Monday for his annual state-of-the-team address and opened with a 19-minute rambling statement, at times raising his voice and appearing uncharacteristically emotional before taking any questions from reporters.

• Coach Rex Ryan announced Michael Vick will start at quarterback over Geno Smith in Sunday’s game at Kansas City.

BEARS: In Chicago’s 51-23 loss to the Patriots on Sunday defensive end Lamarr Houston decided to celebrate a sack – his first of the season – against backup quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo in the closing minutes. He ruptured the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee and will miss the rest of the season.

FALCONS: Coach Mike Smith isn’t shying away from criticism as Atlanta falls apart for the second straight year.

He says the team’s failures fall on him as the head coach.

In Smith’s first five years with the Falcons, they were 56-24, won two division titles and advanced to the playoffs four times.

Atlanta is 6-18 since, but Smith says he’s not concerned about job security with eight games remaining.

GIANTS: Middle linebacker Jon Beason is going to miss the rest of the season because of a foot injury.

JAGUARS: Jacksonville was reluctant to name Denard Robinson its starting running back after his first 100-yard game and touchdown a week ago.

It should be much easier after another strong performance.

Robinson ran 18 times for 108 yards in Sunday’s 27-13 loss to Miami, becoming the team’s first player to top the century mark in consecutive weeks since Maurice Jones-Drew in 2011.

RAMS: Offensive lineman Jake Long and wide receiver Brian Quick both will miss the rest of the season because of injuries, Coach Jeff Fisher said.
