Times Record: Why are you running for office?
Sean Paulhus: I am running for the at-large seat because I would like to have the opportunity to serve and represent all the people of Bath on the City Council and continue to bring a younger perspective to the Council. An atlarge seat is never open at the same time as my district seat so this is an opportunity to represent my entire city that I can’t pass up.
TR: What are the top three issues you’ll have to deal with if elected?
SP: Public work projects in the city, from roads being paved, to sewer and water pipes continuing to be improved. Also ensuring that snow removal is being done in a timely fashion for all the citizens of Bath.
Budgets are always a major issue for any councilor since it is the budget that really shows what our priorities are. The services that are available and the taxes that pay for them affect all of the citizens of Bath.
I also want to continue supporting the efforts to make sure that Bath continues to be a great destination location for businesses to stay or relocate and people to come all year round and/or move to.
TR: What skills or strengths do you bring to office?
SP: I chose at a young age to run for city council and have now served on the council for the last six years. I am also a good listener and respond to the need of my constituents and the city as quickly and consistently as possible.
TR: Why should voters choose you?
SP: I care deeply about the city of Bath, I have spent most of my life in Bath. My family has lived in Bath for several generations. I have gone through Bath’s public school system and come back to Bath to live and invest my time and energy and I am committed to seeing Bath grow and continue to be a leader in the region and in the state. I have six years of experience as a Ward councilor and I believe I can bring the skills learned and unique perspective to the position of at- large city councilor.
