Voters in Gray and New Gloucester shot down a proposal to borrow $6.6 million for School Administrative District 15 facility upgrades, including a new athletic field complex, and whether to tack on an additional $738,000 for a synthetic turf field.
Residents in the two-town district voted 3,832 to 2,928 – or 57 percent to 43 percent – against the proposed projects, including a $2.4 million plan to add classroom space and repair the portico and parking lot at the middle school and a $3.8 million athletic complex with six fields and a running track.
They voted 5,340 to 1377 against the synthetic turf field.
